About Us
The statement “I won’t complain” is a staple in Pastor Gerard Blanding’s life and if you ever ask him how he is doing he will simply reply with just that. He is a man after God’s own heart, a man of integrity, a good steward, a man of purpose, and a man focused on spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Gerard Blanding, Sr., affectionately known as “Mr. Pastor” is one of seven children born to Isaiah and Jesse Mae Blanding. He was raised in Pineville, South Carolina and comes from a long line of bishops, pastors, preachers and singers. In 2005 Pastor Blanding was called to serve as Interim Pastor at Union Baptist Church in Buford where he offered comfort and healing. Around this time Bishop William Sheals had a vision to see a church planted in another part of Gwinnett County and asked the Blandings to plant it. God spoke to the Blandings and showed them the Grayson area. In June of 2010 the process began. With only fourteen members and full of faith, Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church North East opened its doors on October 31, 2010 in a beautiful church building formerly known as Heritage Baptist Church. He serves as senior pastor and is a co-laborer with his beautiful wife, Pastor Veta Blanding. They are blessed with two wonderful children; Alisha (Worship Leader, Psalmist and Actress) and Gerard, Jr.( Psalmist and College Student). Pastor Gerard Blanding
